East European Development Institute, an international non-profit NGO, was founded in October 2001 in Ukraine.
It unites a multi-disciplinary group of experienced development and policy professionals as well as civil activists, aims at fostering a socially and environmentally responsible society in Ukraine, in full adherence to Human Rights, Health care, Diversity, Good Governance issues. Among key activities of EEDI are: conducting policy analysis, research, trainings, discussion and debate; publishing results of research and their dissemination. A multilingual professional editing team allows us to deliver high quality print and electronic publications.
Management and administrative authority is divided between two elected bodies: the Board and the Supervisory Council. Members of the Board or their relatives cannot be elected as members of the Supervisory Council and vice versa. Access to all administrative and financial information is open to all members, donors and auditing bodies, be they national or international. In addition, state officials have no say in the management of EEDI and determining its policies.
Several provisions in the EEDI statute set the framework for anti-fraud standards within the organization. Anti-fraud policies are effectively implemented on operational issues, such as competitive bidding and tender for procurement of goods, services, recruitment of experts and consultants; adherence to rules of non-profit status of EEDI; quarterly financial reporting; transparency of all financial operations via banks, meeting standards set by donors, existing legislation of Ukraine, national and international transparency and accountability standards.
Since the year 2022, EEDI members has been active both individually as well as jointly in human rights protection, maintaining unity and peace in Ukraine through mobilizing humanitarian aid, support to resistance efforts.
