Індійська діаспора в Україні: підтримка охорони здоров’я та людяність

EEDI hosted a discussion on Indian Diaspora in Ukraine, featuring the issues of health and humanity. The event was held within the framework of the EEDI Project “Ukraine and South Asia: Open Dialogues” with support from the International Renaissance Foundation. In cooperation with the Indian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (IPMA) and the India Club, several stellar personalities from the health and pharmaceutical sector spoke and presented their views, among them. Dr. U. P. R. Menon, head of the IPMA, and Sanjeev Bhagat, CEO of Konark and Euro Care Group of companies. Alok Batra, Director of integrated Sun Pharma, Ukraine and Moldova could not attend but his views were presented. All these persons traced their life’s journey and association with Ukraine. They did a lot in Ukraine and they had a lot to say. We were joined by another bright personality, Thamarai Pandian, CEO of DIA Pharma, who was also the President of the India Club (2012-2017). Their revelations allow us to undertand why they are in Ukraine and why they help Ukraine. In their words, it is not business or maximization of profits (and they acknowledge that they earned legitimately in Ukraine and expanded their businesses) but giving back to the society, which they call their second home and their companies – their extended families. Julia Fil, Vivekananda Ghosh also participated by asking questions. Ram Dange raised the issue of appealing to PM Narendra Modi on the eve of his planned visit to Ukraine. Very useful discussion.
